The importance of play in child development and learning

Play is an essential part of development; from puppies chasing their tales to young birds practicing swooping through the air.  It’s the same with young children: play helps children to learn about the world by interacting with it.  Using art in education is widely recognised as being vital to help childhood development: it encourages children to participate and explore, interacting with other children and non-threatening objects.

Kid’s art sets such as the Reeves Giant Colour Box are great for letting kids play and express their creativity through art.  With everything from coloured pencils, oil pastels and water colours your child will soon be enjoying themselves.  If you’re a teacher or nursery nurse, sets such as the Colourland class pack are perfect for letting large groups of kids do art cheaply!  Why not also use things like old shoe boxes combined with art products to allow children to build garages and hospitals?  Unleash their creativity and imagination and let them be “in charge” in a world where they’re often small and powerless. Get arty and let your kids’ blossom!
